Just as the Grimms were devoted to rebuilding their country through mythology, David Feinstein emphasizes “We need new myths; We need them urgently and desperately.” Planetary Walnut (working title) is an attempt toward the creation of future mythologies based on folk magic, herb lore, science fiction and driven by a deep concern for the future of our environment. As Cunningham states in the Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs " Magic is the practice of causing change through the use of powers as yet not defined or accepted by science. ...Magic can be used when no other means are available."
